By mapping literature across grade levels and themes, educators can create a cohesive learning journey that deepens students’ appreciation for different genres, historical contexts, and literary techniques. This method not only strengthens students’ critical thinking and textual analysis but also encourages interdisciplinary connections and inquiry-based learning, aligning well with frameworks like the IB curriculum.
Participants will gain practical strategies for designing and implementing literary-based curriculum mapping in their schools. The session will highlight best practices for selecting texts, scaffolding literary analysis, and integrating assessment tools that enhance students’ interpretative and analytical skills. Educators will leave with actionable insights on how to make literature more engaging and thought-provoking, helping students develop a lifelong appreciation for reading and critical inquiry.
This interactive session is ideal for curriculum leaders, Arabic and literature teachers, and educational professionals looking to enhance their instructional strategies and enrich students’ literary experiences.
Speaker:
Maram Qaddomi
I’ve spent over 20 years teaching and leading Arabic teams in Dubai schools, and I’m still as passionate about it as ever. Throughout my journey, I’ve mentored teachers, designed engaging curricula, and worked hard to make Arabic learning both meaningful and enjoyable for students. I’m especially passionate about the IB framework and literary-based curriculum mapping, using both to create rich, inquiry-driven learning experiences. Leading Arabic departments has given me the chance to shape programs, support teachers, and bring fresh ideas into the classroom. At the heart of it all, my goal is simple: to inspire a love for Arabic in every student I meet.
