The workshop aims to shine a light on stammering in education, building empathy, awareness and practical support strategies for schools. Founded on real classroom experience, it combines storytelling, interactive activities and inclusive teaching tools. Participants will explore key topics including misconceptions about stammering, active listening practices, student and teacher experiences, and effective ways to support confidence in the learning environment.
Workshop objectives include: normalizing conversations about stammering, equipping educators with actionable classroom strategies, embedding stammering-focused CPD, and fostering an environment where students and staff who stammer feel heard, supported and empowered.
Key topics covered: speech diversity, empathy-led communication, inclusive education frameworks, and workshop-adaptable resources inspired by campaigns such as ‘Let’s Get Talking’ from the STAMMA community network.
