The workshop will be about a structured approach that supports teachers in planning and delivering well-paced, purposeful lessons. It breaks learning into clear, manageable phases that help teachers stay focused on the learning outcome while continuously checking for understanding. The model highlights three key elements: Guide, Engage, and Monitor, that work together to create purposeful learning experiences.
The Effective Lesson Plan Model ensures that each part of the lesson; from the initial activation of prior knowledge, to guided practice, to independent mastery; builds logically and supports all learners.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
1. Explain Effective Lesson Plan model and its purpose in supporting effective, well-paced instruction.
2. Use strategies to track student progress throughout a lesson through purposeful checkpoints and responsive teaching.
3. Design a lesson sequence that supports learners in successfully reaching the stated learning outcome.
4. Adjust pacing and instruction based on real-time monitoring to ensure all students move toward mastery.
