– Enhancing IB Pedagogy in MYP/DP Science
This workshop aims to strengthen teachers’ understanding and application of core IB pedagogical principles, with a focus on inquiry-based learning, conceptual understanding, and effective use of ATL skills and assessment practices. The session will provide practical strategies to support high-quality planning and instruction aligned with IB expectations.
Workshop Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
a) Define key elements of IB pedagogy and connect them to classroom instructional practices.
b) Design inquiry-based learning tasks aligned with concepts, global contexts, and assessment criteria.
c) Integrate ATL skills intentionally into daily learning experiences.
d) Evaluate and reflect on current teaching approaches using an IB pedagogy self-audit.
e) Apply IB principles to lesson planning, including concept-based instruction and formative assessment.

Professional Biography:
A passionate and dedicated science educator with 22 years of experience teaching Integrated sciences, Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental science across the International British and IB MYP/DP curricula. I bring a strong cross-curricular and inquiry-driven approach to teaching and learning, supported by my experience as an IBDP Examiner and IA Moderator.
I have contributed to whole-school growth as a CIS Accreditation Steering Committee Member and Domain Chair and have supported IB program evaluation in two international schools. As a grade-level academic head and team leader, I have successfully organized and led a range of academic and experiential learning trips focused on teamwork, leadership, and meaningful curriculum connections.
